JANUARY
I don’t post on here much. I tend to get so into the flow of making and sending finished pieces straight to shops that I forget to stop and document it. But I did want to come on and wish you all a Happy New Year and a big thank you for your support.
I’m someone who doesn’t love the winter, though I do really love the skies at this time of year. I feel a natural pull to slow down and rest as the days grow shorter. But for makers and creatives, the last few months of the year tend to be such a push as we prepare for the Christmas period. And so, once the festivities are over and we make our way into the new year, it is now that we can finally set our tools down, take a breath and pause. I know that each of us will wonder whether we did enough; we can always do more. But it is what it is now. We did what we could and now we rest.
I have many grand plans for 2026 (including posting on here more). All in good time. But all this rambling is just to say thank you thank you thank you. I hope this new year finds you well, I hope you find the time to pause, and I hope to see you very soon. Happy new year.
ramblings
I was in my 20s during the early 2000s, and so I love a good blog. These days I’m told nobody reads them. That’s OK. Everything we do nowadays is so dependent on how many views it will get, as though without the mass following or the “going viral” something isn’t worth consideration. Well, I wanted to start this blog because I wanted a record for me as I navigate and, hopefully, grow Paz & Norris. It’s easy to look at a business in its current form and forget all the meandering it took to get there.
I also started reading more and more awful stories about Instagram and Facebook accounts getting hacked and small business owners being extorted for money that small businesses simply don’t have. Years of entries and followers gone, just like that. What have we become?
And so, welcome to the first post on my blog. No doubt, entries will be sporadic. But I’m not here to maintain any schedule or ramp up engagement. I’m just leaving footprints along the way so I can retrace my steps whenever I want to, and if you feel like doing the same, I hope you enjoy it.
